Automobiles in German City Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report

Authorities mentioned they were alerted by a individual who found a vehicle in Hanau covered with reddish substance

Around 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Vehicles, walls and postboxes were marked, in some cases with swastikas, they reported in a statement.

Law enforcement report they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.

The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.

Police then found numerous other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws banning the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police state early analysis suggest the fluid was most likely human blood.

"There is still no clue as to its source; officials are presently not aware of any physical harm in relation with the event," they stated.

Local authorities announced they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the community for information.

A high-ranking representative commented the attack rendered him stunned and had to be solved quickly.

"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right attack half a decade ago," he posted on online, recalling the death of nine victims by a gunman aiming at residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
